Trump's round with McIlroy leads to White House statement

President Donald Trump's recent round with Rory McIlroy drew attention from more than just the golf media. As reported by No Laying Up, McIlroy joined Trump for a round Sunday at Trump International Golf Club in Florida, where McIlroy estimated that Trump "probably shot around an 80."At question, though, was the length of the outing, as the White House had apparently told reporters on Sunday that Trump had not played a full round:

The White House issued a statement on the round Monday afternoon, confirming that Trump went all 18 holes with the four-time major champ."As stated yesterday, the president played golf. He intended to play a few holes and decided to play longer," the statement read. "He also had a full day of meetings, calls and interviews for the new NSA, which he is continuing (Monday) before returning to Washington, D.C."
